Barely seven months ago, I was having a conversation with a new student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism admitted into ND1. In the course of my conversation with her, she said that organising of events outside academics in the school gives students room to comprehend lectures better. Then she made use of a popular cliché, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Ordinarily, I am not a firm believer of that generally accepted cliche because from experience, I have come to realise that the moment Jack overplays, he forgets the essence of even attending lectures and paying the sacrifice of being in school.
