Here's why NIJ students prefer extracurricular activities to academic activities

Barely seven months ago, I was having a conversation with a new student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism admitted into ND1. In the course of my conversation with her, she said that organising of events outside academics in the school gives students room to comprehend lectures better. Then she made use of a popular cliché, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Ordinarily, I am not a firm believer of that generally accepted cliche because from experience, I have come to realise that the moment Jack overplays, he forgets the essence of even attending lectures and paying the sacrifice of being in school. According to research, students who partipate more in academic activities enhance and develop essential skills required for a successful life.  Students in NIJ at all levels, get to develop important life skills such as leadership, time management, effective communication, logical thinking, problem-solving by joining clubs, seminar, and program specifically focused...

She added that the increment in the minimum wage may have a ripple effect on the standard of living for Nigerians, along side feeding and cost in transportation. "It might trigger increase in house rent, transportation, foodstuffs etc. It is...

One thing you never knew about bras as a woman

While I was growing up, especially during the stage of me transitioning from a child to a teenager, I noticed my body began developing some certain body changes  which felt seemingly unusual to me. As at the time, I was thinking I was the only one noticing you, not knowing my mother noticed and understood the phase I was going through. There came a time she sat me down to speak with me about the phase I was going through - puberty. I can vividly recall her resounding words in my head, "always wear bra so that your breast will continue to remain firm." However, research has proven that bra has no relationship with whether or not your breast will continue to remain firm or will fall. According to a popular Nigerian medical doctor, Aproko Doctor, he has recently shared with fellow Nigerian women trapped with the myth of not wearing bra as a contributing factor for a sagging breast. He further reaffirmed by highlight the factors that could contribute to a woman or lady havin...
